Description

GreyStuff is an advanced, single-component duct sealing solution powered by innovative FyBrid technology. This neutral-curing, non-hazardous sealant is designed to withstand harsh environmental conditions, ensuring robust protection for cable ducts, bore holes, and other ducted networks. Its exceptional chemical resistance, water-tight, and gas-tight properties make it the top choice for industrial and commercial sealing applications.

Key Features of GreyStuff Duct Sealing System

  • FyBrid Technology: Enhances durability and performance for sealing cables, pipes, and ducts.

  • Non-Hazardous Composition: Environmentally friendly and safe for use in confined spaces and ex zones.

  • Single Component: Simplifies application with no mixing required, saving time and reducing installation complexity.

  • Intumescent Properties: Expands when exposed to heat, providing an additional layer of fire protection (only when used with DuctSeal FR).

  • Non-Adiabatic: Minimal Cable De-Rating: At 20mm thickness, the thermal resistance of 5.1 K/W allows efficient heat transfer, preventing excess heat buildup and ensuring the cable retains its full current-carrying capacity. This formulation supports optimal performance, even under high-demand conditions.

Benefits of GreyStuff for Duct and Cable Sealing

  • Water & Gas Tight Seal: Provides reliable protection in ducts and networks against water, gas, and fuel ingress.

  • Chemical Resistance: Resists hydrocarbons, methane, chlorine, and hydrogen sulphide, making it suitable for challenging industrial environments.

  • High Bonding Strength: Ensures a secure and durable seal even under harsh conditions.

  • Compliance with Industry Standards: Meets ATEX, WIMES, and DSEAR requirements, ensuring reliability in raceway seals and special duct sealing applications.

Why Choose GreyStuff for Duct and Cable Sealing?

  • Longevity and Reliability: Designed for long-term performance with reduced maintenance needs in cable ducts and bore holes.

  • Safety with Non-Hazardous Composition: Zero-MEKO formula ensures safe usage for workers and the environment.

  • Versatile Application: Retrospective installation, no mixing required, and suitable for restricted spaces and multiple cables in one duct.

  • Proven Performance: Robust chemical and hydrocarbon resistance for use in petrochemical, water, and gas industries.

How to Use GreyStuff for Best Results

  1. Clean Surfaces: Remove dirt, oil, and grease from ducts and cables to ensure a strong bond with the adhesive.

  2. Apply the Right Thickness: A minimum thickness of 20mm is recommended for optimal performance.

  3. Observe Curing Time: Cures at a rate of 3-4mm per day; higher humidity and temperature accelerate the process.

FAQs

Installation

Cure Time
Grey Stuff will cure 3-4mm daily, depending on the Humidity and temperature. The higher the humidity %, and temperature, the quicker Grey Stuff will cure. A minimum requirement of 20mm GreyStuff is required for an effective seal.

Cleaning
Uncured material spillages can be cleaned with a solvent-based wipe.

Health & Safety
GreyStuff is based on a neutral curing system that is hazardous-free to protect users when carrying out tasks like sealing cable ducts. Non-hazardous Zero MEKO.

Re-entry & Removal
Grey Stuff will cure to a similar hardness of a rubber eraser, so re-entry and removal are achievable. The ease of this depends on the type of tools used. For example, a sharper tool will be easier than a blunt-ended tool. Only use sharp tools when cables are de-energised. AC Cable Solutions accepts no responsibility for damaged cables.

Cable Suitability
Grey Stuff is a single-component neutral curing system containing no solvents. Our formulation does not damage the properties of a cable sheath or stain surfaces.

Storage
Grey Stuff should be kept in a cool, dry environment and away from sunlight. Product shelf life is 12 months. Once opened, any remaining product can still be used for 1 month afterwards, provided the screwcap is securely fitted.
